Ulugbek Abservatory

Ulugbek Abservatory - Observatory Ulugbek One of the most significant observatories of the Middle Ages, constructed Ulugbek on hill in vicinities of Samarkand in 1424 - 1428 years.

On memoirs of eyewitnesses, it was the three-tier building of the round form covered by fine tiles in diameter more than 46 and height not less than 30 meters. In the main hall the enormous tool for supervision over the Sun, the Moon and other heavenly bodies was located. And the main tool - a sextant - with amazing accuracy was on a line of a meridian from the south on the north; verifying definitions of modern astronomers testify to it.
