Uzbekistan Mechanical engineering
In industry of Uzbekistan the machine building is widely developed as the basis of technical rearmament of all national economy branches. This branch should provide complex mechanization of cotton growing, further development
of irrigation, provision of different branches of industry with various machines for processing and development of raw cotton, cocoons of silk worn and etc. The development of transportation means is inseparably with that branch as they provide a wide range of services to the cotton growing branch.
At the industrial enterprises of machine building tens of working lines, conveyers, automatic and semi-automatic devices are operating, new machinery, mechanisms, appliances were made. They are cotton harvesters of various modifications, cotton-sowing machines, spinning and twisting frames, dump-trailers for bulk cotton transportation, machines for mechanized irrigation, computer controlled tools and many others.
Enterprises of machine building manufacture machines and aggregates for land and road work: shovels, transporters, ditch diggers, graders, and leveling machines.
Tens of industrial enterprises and associations are fucntioning in machine building branch. The production associations Tashkent Tractor Plant, «Uzbekselmash», «Tashselmash», «Chirchikselmash», Tashkent Plant of Aggregates «Tashkhimselmash» form not the complete list of enterprises of that branch. Big industrial enterprises of machine building on manufacture of roving and spinning devices are represented by «Tashtextilmash», on equipment for chemical industry — by «Uzbekkhimmash» (the town of Chirchik) and the others.
In the town of Asaka of Andijan province jointly with South Korean Company of DAEWOO the center for motor industry «UzDAEWOOauto» was created. On March 25, 1996 here the production line on manufacture of minibuses «Damas», automobiles «Nexia», «Tico», and later «Matiz», «Lacetti» started operating. Thus, the new page was opened in the history of motor industry of independent Uzbekistan.
And in spring of 1999, another important event occurred in the development of the republic motor industry, in Samarkand for the short period of time the automobile plant «Samkochavto» was constructed and put into operation. This plant was constructed as well on joint basis by the Association «Uzavtosanoat» and Turkish Company «Koch holding».
In production output in the mechanical engineering sector grew by 20.3% compared to 2007. The most intensive development occurred in the car manufacturing industry (21.2%) and the electrical industry (45.4%). This resulted from an increase in the production number of cars (9.2%), mains transformers (63.3%), installation wire (39.4%) and other products. As a result of a growth in the demand from domestic and foreign markets, there was an increase in the production of: tractors (59.3%), tractor trailers 57.8%), and seeders (26.2%).
Car manufacturers reacted successfully to the expansion in the sales market by raising production by 7.6 thousand cars compared to the corresponding period in 2007. More than 60% of the cars produced were exported. Production of commercial vehicles and new model of truck with a capacity of 25 tons was launched. The production of buses increased 1.9-fold.
In the cable and conductors sub-sector of the electrical industry, the production of transformers and elevators developed at a faster rate.
