Employment.

As of 1st of July 2008 the resident population of Uzbekistan reached 27296.7 thousand people and it is growing yearly. Thus in the first 6 month of the year 2008, population increased by 224.5 thousand (or by 0, 8%). The percentage of the population under working age (16 years age) is 33%, the population of working age (16-55(60)) is 16, 1 million (59, 5%) and above working age is 1,9 million (7, 2%). Accordingly to the estimates the Republic of Uzbekistan occupies the 3d position among the CIS countries after Russia and the Ukraine. And among 5 States of Central Asia it positively stands on the 1st place.

The Government of Uzbekistan has a great concern on developing and sufficiency of Employment centers. One of example was declaring of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Measures to raise employment and improve productivity of Labor and Social Protection.
