The chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a State International organization that is purposely founded to achieve its primary goal developing the National Economic by settling productive standards and coordinating business relationships with International representatives. Today the Chamber works hard on developing its system of services and increasing their quality so that representatives of business community and foreign investors could receive competent assistance from experts of the Chamber of Commerce in the Republic of Uzbekistan. And today it is a pleasure to note, that the amount of members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is increasing daily.

In the world history the idea of organization of an International Trade Federation was announced during the International Trade Conference that was held in Atlantic City (USA) in 1919. Thus the first International Chamber of Commerce appeared in 1920. For the first time one of the Departments of the International Chamber of Commerce was opened in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 1959. This department was operating under the centralized control and became to be known as the Chamber of commodity producers and entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan in 1972. In the period of Independency the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued the Decree from 7, July, 2004 "On creation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan". Accordingly to the Decree the Chamber received a new statues becoming The Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Nowadays the Chamber of Commerce and Industry unites Chambers of Commerce 26 countries, becoming a member of the World Federation of Chambers of Commerce (starting from August 16, 2005) and the Confederation of Asian-Pacific Chamber of Commerce and Industry (starting from October 27, 2005).

The Chamber of commerce and Industry is
obliged to carry out the following tasks:

  • The Chamber provides the National Economic development by creating healthy conditions for business environment, establishing trade system, scientific and technical relations of Uzbekistan with other countries,
  • The Chamber provides its support in promotion of domestic companies and assists in progress of business relationships between domestic companies and their foreign partners. It also assists Uzbek organizations in expansion of business contracts with foreign companies in order to increase export on domestic production and enlarge the State-budgeted income,
  • The Chamber’s main priority is the creation of new manufactures, enterprises and other organization attracting foreign investments to the Republic of Uzbekistan,
  • The Chamber is active in formation of complete standard system of a market infrastructure in Uzbekistan
  • The Chamber is obliged to provide domestic organizations with the following services: consulates, gives publication of information, informs about business opportunities and new technologies, implements measures on formation healthy business environment, assists in organization of professional trainings, protects the legislation, settles procedures for companies’ registration, certification of production, licensing and other actions,
  • The Chamber keeps the database of the entrepreneurs on the basis of the state register of the enterprises and the organizations,
  • The Chamber handles other tasks in view of World practice of Chambers’ activity and the international contracts of the Republic of Uzbekistan, according to the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
